What extracurricular activities have you been involved in at Wichita State?

Cohen Honors College, Exercise Science Student Organization, and Pre-Physical Therapy Club

What activities are you involved in within the community?

Work as a tech at Advanced Physical Therapy and NewSpring Church volunteer

What (or who) inspires you?

Reaching my dream of becoming a physical therapist, as well as hopefully owning my own clinic, inspires me. Until I achieve that goal, everything I do in life will be working towards it.

What experience as a Shocker has stood out to you the most?

Since I only attended WSU for a year and a half before graduating, I did not get as many experiences being a Shocker as most. However, from the first day, I truly felt that all of my professors were willing to do whatever they needed to in order to help me reach my goals. I had not experienced that at my previous institution, so it made me feel much more at home at Wichita State.

Outstanding Graduating Senior Award

One graduating senior each year will be given the exclusive honor of the College of Applied Studies Outstanding Graduating Senior Award. The Outstanding Graduating Senior Award is presented to a student who has demonstrated a high-level of leadership and involvement at the University and within the College.

2019 Recipient: Collin Munson, Sport Management

What extracurricular activities have you been involved in at Wichita State?

Veterans Day of Service, Organized the first SMGT Lunch and Learn for students, and been involved in a lot of departmental activities that involved Wichita State. I did a service learning project of the Wichita Open for our department and won the Collaboration & Leadership in Service-Learning Award

What activities are you involved in within the community?

Volunteer work at the Wichita Open (tennis and golf tournaments) and the 2018 NCAA March Madness Tournament.

What (or who) inspires you?

The ability to give to others. That has been a goal of mine for a long time. I’m inspired to become successful and then give some of my success to others. I want to give scholarships to those whose parents can’t afford. I love Make a Wish Foundation and it would be a dream of mine to have more money to help and give to those in need and be able to help others when no one else will.

What experience as a Shocker has stood out to you the most?

That I’ve been around some really great people. I’ve had great people around me in the past but hear at WSU, I feel like they want what is best for me and my future. They are there through my highs and my lows. They’ve experienced every side of Collin and they still have helped push me to reach my dreams and be successful.
