Dr. Elizabeth Heilman, a distinguished professor in WSU's College of Applied Studies School of Education, is gaining national recognition for her impactful work in ecological restoration and community well-being.

Key highlights include her prestigious Pritchard Lecture at the 78th International Annual Conference of the Soil and Water Conservation Society, where she shared innovative strategies for resilient water cycles and community health. Dr. Heilman also played a central role in the ATTRA Water for Soil webinar, addressing water scarcity solutions, and presented at various national conferences on topics ranging from grazing and soil ecology to mental health in rural communities.

Looking ahead, Dr. Heilman is set to speak internationally in the Czech Republic in January 2024, sharing expertise on drought and flood mitigation. Beyond conferences, she actively engages her students in collaborations with environmental education associations and integrates self-care and community collaboration into her teachings.
