Faculty members Dr. Heidi Bell and Alexus (AJ) Cossell, alongside nine undergraduate students from Wichita State University's Human Performance Studies (HPS) department, attended the 2024 Central States American College of Sports Medicine (CSACSM) Conference held at Children’s Mercy Research Institute in Kansas City, MO on March 7 and 8.
Competing against 14 teams from universities across the Central States Region, including Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, WSU's two HPS Exercise Science undergraduate student teams participated in the Quiz Bowl Tournament.
The WSU HPS Quiz Bowl teams demonstrated their expertise within the field with an impressive performance. Going into Final Jeopardy, the teams were neck and neck in 1st and 2nd place, with only 300 points separating them and an impressive lead of over 3000 points ahead of the 3rd place team.
Following the Final Jeopardy round, where teams were required to place a bet on a single question, WSU's teams proudly secured 3rd and 4th place. Congratulations to both WSU HPS Quiz Bowl teams!
