Admission Requirements
When applying for admission to the Wichita United Inclusive Transition Education (WUnite) program, you must:
- be 18 years of age or older
- have a documented disability
- show evidence of high school completion
- demonstrate motivation and desire to improve independence and gain competitive employment
- have a reliable method of communication
- have the ability to compute basic math problems without the use of a calculator
- have the ability to read or obtain information from text and communicate thoughts to others in writing, with or without the use of assistive technology
- have the ability to navigate campus and change classes with minimal support
Application Process
1. Interested applicants are required to attend an informational meeting and take a campus tour.
2. Apply online (application for fall start available in January) and submit:
- Official high school transcript
- Official copy of IEP
- 3 letters of recommendation supporting student's ability and desire to work towards independence and gainful employment, as well as support of student meeting admission requirements
3. Schedule a personal interview.
3. Receive admission decision.
4. Attend new student orientation.
5. Attend WUnite student orientation and person centered planning meeting.
