New Courses for Summer 2016
The Master of Education in Learning and Instructional Design is offering two new educational technology courses during this summer described below.
CI 750AL Instructional Multimedia Development (3) |
This workshop is intended to help students to improve multimedia development skills so that they can use various audio-visual teaching/learning materials in class. Through this course, students will learn how to create/edit instructional multimedia by using image editing software (e.g., photoshop, GIMP), audio recording/editing software (e.g., Audacity), and movie editing software (e.g., WeVideo, iMovie, Windows Moviemaker) upon students' preference. At the end of the course, students will be able to make instructional multimedia for their own classes. In addition to learning how to use these software, students will also improve their critical thinking skills through evaluating others' work and reflecting their own learning activities during the course. |
CI 750AM Interactive Online Teaching (3) |
This workshop provides students with useful technique and hands-on activities that are necessary to teach online classes. In this course, students will learn how to set up online learning objectives, how online learners are different from face-to-face learner, the useful strategies to motivate online learners, how to elevate learner's engagement level in online learning environment, and the ways to incorporate social media effectively with online teaching. Additionally, students will have an opportunity to explore how to use learning content management system (e.g., Blackboard) to manage courses more effectively online through online course design project. |
