MGMT 681 - Strategic Management
Strategic Management is the capstone course for all Barton Business majors to be completed during the student's final semester of their senior year. Permission to enroll in MGMT 681 must be obtained from the Business Advising Center to ensure graduation requirements have been met. Permission can be obtained by completing the Request to Enroll in MGMT 681 and Senior form. When the form is submitted, an advisor will respond within 48-hours (weekends excluded).
Check Your Degree Progress
Look over your Degree Works to check your progress. If you notice something missing, or if you have any questions regarding your requirements to graduate, schedule an appointment with an advisor as soon as possible. Putting this off for too long may delay your graduation.
IMPORTANT! ALL transcripts of other college work must be sent to WSU before a degree will be posted, even if these courses are not needed to meet WSU degree requirements. Official transcripts of all work done at other postsecondary institutions must be submitted, and for transcripts to be official, they must be mailed from the college or university directly to WSU - Registrar's Office, or electronically (a certified copy of a student's permanent academic record) saved in an Adobe PDF format and sent through secure email links from the National Student Clearinghouse. Faxed transcripts will not be accepted.Office of the Registrar Wichita State University 1845 Fairmount Wichita, KS 67260-0058
Apply to Graduate
Submit an on-line Application for Degree (AFD) through your myWSU portal by the deadline of October 1st for December (fall) graduates, or March 1st for May & August (spring & summer) graduates.
Students are encouraged to submit their AFD at least one semester before the semester they intend to graduate. Please submit your AFD for the semester you intend to complete all of your degree requirements, not the semester you wish to attend the Commencement Ceremony, which is a separate issue that is addressed in the RSVP section below.
For step-by-step instructions explaining how to submit an AFD, please visit: How To Submit An AFD
RSVP for the Commencement Ceremony
The online RSVP system can be found by logging into your myWSU, going to the myClasses tab, and clicking on the “Commencement Registration” link in the Graduation Links box, which is located on the right hand side of the page. Online reservations opens for the Fall ceremony each year on October 1st and for the Spring ceremony on March 1st. Please refer to the graduate information flyer for the closing date to submit your reservation.

Degree Completion Letter for Current Seniors
Since it takes a few weeks to post degrees, the Barton School of Business can provide a Degree Completion Letter to verify you are in your final semester, or are expected to complete all graduation requirements.
NOTE: A letter stating you have COMPLETED all graduation requirements cannot be issued until after final grades post AND end-of-term processing has occurred--which is about 2 weeks after Finals Week.
Make request to the Business Graduation Coordinator, or stop by Clinton Hall, room 008.
The Degree Completion letter is only for current seniors and current graduates. If you have graduated more than one semester ago, please email the Registrar's Office or call 316-978-5479 for assistance.
If you have holds on your account/student records, your diploma will not be released.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a diploma?
A diploma is a commemoration of your degree completion that is suitable for framing. A diploma is NOT an official document that proves you earned the degree.
Why does my diploma say "Bachelor of Business Administration'?
All business majors are awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Your diploma will only state you were awarded the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration. Your major(s), minor(s) and/or honors are stated on your transcript.
For resume and graduation invitation purposes, this wording is appropriate:
~Name~ has earned ~his/her~ Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in ~ and a minor in ~.
