Department of Management

Management involves coordinating a group of people to accomplish a goal. The Management program at Wichita State University focuses on the human interaction within an organization. You will take courses in leadership, motivation, organizational development and design, group dynamics, communication, and decision-making.

Management also includes planning, organizing, controlling, and directing resources efficiently to enhance organizational effectiveness and productivity. You can specialize in a specific management field through minors such as human resource management, management information systems, operations management, international business, and entrepreneurship.

Specific Requirements for Management Majors
  • All majors must have at least 12 unduplicated credit hours.
  • A maximum of 3 credit hours of coop (MGMT 481) may be counted in the MGMT major.
  • Management major consists of 21 credit hours. Some courses have prerequisites.
