Message from Dean Larisa Genin
Welcome to the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University, where we are dedicated to building tomorrow's business leaders.
We are student centered and business driven. We value integrity and intellectual curiosity. We honor diversity of culture, thought, and experience. And we celebrate the development of critical thinking, innovation, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Our programs are taught by talented faculty that understand the needs of the evolving business world. We focus on applied learning, building an entrepreneurial spirit, and helping you develop the transferable soft skills that will serve you well throughout your professional career. Our advising staff are skilled at helping you plan and execute your coursework that helps you achieve your academic goals.
All of our degree programs at both the undergraduate and the master's level are fully accredited by AACSB – International, the world's premier business accreditation body. This accreditation means that our programs have successfully undergone a thorough review for innovation, quality, relevancy, engagement with the business community, and successful student outcomes.
We have a rich history of producing graduates that have been successful in their careers, ascending to executive levels, and launching successful businesses. We have extensive business connections, and businesses seek out our students – whether it be for internships, cooperative education, part-time employment or full-time positions. You can get real-world experience and apply the knowledge and skills you obtain in your classes while you are in school.
But it's not just about school work. There are many student organizations in the Barton School that bring students with similar interests together. By joining one or more of these, you can build your own network and community.
Thank you for visiting our website, where you will find detailed information about many of the things I have touched upon. You can e-mail me at BartonSchoolDean@wichita.edu and follow me on Twitter at @WSUBIZDean.
