Marisa has been working in Marketing since she was 18, hired at a local Wichita company just out of high school to be their in-house web developer. While she earned her BA in English from Brigham Young University and her Master's in Letters in Modern Scottish Writing from the University of Stirling, Scotland, Marisa continued to work as a developer during college, coding in PHP and ASP.NET C# specifically. After completing her degrees, she pivoted her main focus to reputation management and copywriting for the web, while also helping former employers and clients get their businesses on social media when business pages first became available, even helping one company get on the beta version of Pinterest. Because of her experience in most facets of websites and digital marketing, Marisa, with a partner, began a full-service marketing agency here in Wichita in 2015. Recently, Marisa refocused back to digital marketing and web development through her new agency, Captain Coder.

When not testing out the newest social channels "for research purposes" or working, Marisa loves to travel around the world (global pandemic notwithstanding). While in Wichita, Marisa enjoys taking her husky-mix Mac out for walks throughout the city, hitting the bag at Rebel Boxing, blogging, or reading a good book.
