Highlights from Our Inaugural ECE Day
Our first ECE Day took place on September 20th, 2024. The event began with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Anil Mahapatro, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering, setting a positive tone for the day.
Dr. Tamimi, Chair of the ECE Industry Advisory Board (IAB) and Chief Operating Officer of Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, addressed the students with insightful remarks. The IAB provides valuable advice, feedback, and support, helping to guide the department’s mission toward industry relevance and academic excellence.
A key feature of the event was the ECE alumni panel, where alumni shared their professional experiences and offered career advice. Students engaged with alumni by asking questions about essential skills, internships, and career paths, while faculty introduced research collaboration opportunities. The event fostered a sense of community, encouraging students to make the most of their undergraduate journey through extracurricular involvement and networking.
The student organizations IEEE and IEEE-HKN played active roles in organizing and supporting the event, contributing to student engagement and participation.
