Industrial Advisory Board Meeting - Spring 2015

School of Computing Industrial Advisory Board

Approximately 28% of the engineers/computer scientists employed in Wichita, Kansas, the center of industrial activity in the state, received their engineering/computer science education at Wichita State University. Many of these students continue their education as part time graduate students. This provides the School of Copmuting the opportunity to obtain evaluations of the performance of its graduates in industry.

The Industrial Advisory Board of the School of Computing consists of computing and engineering leaders from the tech industry (mostly) in the Wichita area. These leaders, representing the Wichita area industrial constituency of the school of computing programs, provide input as to program objectives, and assist the Department in assessing the technical content and performance of its programs. The Board meets with faculty of the Department at least once per year to discuss issues and review goals and objectives.
