1. Introduction Of the MSIE Program

The mission of the Master of Science in industrial engineering (MSIE) degree program is to enhance the skills of degreed engineers by providing advanced knowledge and skills that are needed to design, model, analyze and manage modern complex systems in order to increase the effectiveness of manufacturing and service sector organizations. Students will have opportunity to enhance their knowledge on technical skills such as optimization, production planning, quality, supply chain management, simulation, analytics, reliability, ergonomics, systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, and biomedical engineering, and also non-technical skills required for success in their careers. Recent graduates have obtained positions in manufacturing, services, and consulting companies.

2. Admission Requirements

In order to be admitted in the MSIE program, applicants must:

  1. Possess an undergraduate degree in engineering, science, business, or other related discipline;
  2. Have satisfactorily completed: MATH 243, Calculus II; IME 255, Engineering Economy;
  3. Have a minimum GPA of 3.000, on a 4.000 scale, in the last 60 hours of undergraduate courses and in all graduate courses (students with lower GPA may be considered only for probationary or non- degree admission); and

In addition,

  1. Applicants whose native language is not English must submit official, acceptable scores for either the TOEFL, the Academic Module of the IELTS examination, or the PTE-Academic test.   2. Department prefers and strongly encourages the submission of GRE scores.

Please note that

  1. Some of the IME courses may require programming skills as a pre-requisite.
  2. Some of the IME courses may require Linear Algebra or Calculus III as a pre-requisite.
