Dwane Wallace enshrined into the National Aviation Hall of Fame

After 41 years with the Cessna Aircraft Company, the late Dwane L. Wallace retired in 1975 as its Chairman and CEO. During the Depression, Wallace used money won by air racing to meet payroll. After the company served WWII military aircraft demand, Wallace directed Cessna’s development and growth of extensive corporate and general aviation product lines. He was a founder and first chairman of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.

Velma Wallace: Recipient of the First Wichita Aero Club Trophy

The Wichita Aero Club presented its first Wichita Aero Club Trophy to Mrs. Velma L. Wallace at the Club’s annual Ball on Saturday evening, September 18, 2010 at the Wichita Airport Hilton. The trophy is awarded annually to a living person or persons with a strong relationship to the Wichita area or region who has distinguished himself or herself through exemplary achievements or contributions in the field of aviation or aerospace.
