Robots

The laboratory has two robot platforms for the research and experiments of this project: a Sawyer Collaborative Robot and a Nao Robot. The Sawyer Robot is equipped with an AR10 artificial robotic hand for the experiment of robotic manipulation. The Sawyer comes with an in-hand industrial camera in the forearm. NAO is a personalizable and interactive robot. His humanoid shape and body movements make it an ideal platform for traching and researching.

Sensors

The robot intelligence laboratory has two depth sensors for the experiments of robot sensing: the Intel RealSense depth sensor and a Velodyne LiDAR (VLP-16). These sensors will be used to measure depth in the workspace. The robot intelligence laboratory has several SCiO sensors that can be used to classify and identify materials from Near Infrared spectrum. There are multiple IMU sensors available in the laboratory for experiments and integration to the camera recorders.

Computing

The robot intelligence laboratory has a High performance workstation with a intel i7-5930K CPU@ 2.30GHzx12, 32Gib Memory and a TITAN X SSE2 GPU. This workstation can provide enough computation power and functionality to satisfy the daily computation work of researchers and students in our lab.
