President's Report

  • Policy 4.13 (Electorate for chair elections) published
  • Policy Work over summer
    • Request from Academic Affairs to work on university polices over the summer; after review of senate committee bylaws, Executive Committee has stood up a taskforce (TF) to work over the summer. Work will be in collaboration with stakeholders and routed to appropriate committees and/or to the full senate for feedback in the fall.

Committee Reports

  • Nominations from Rules Committee – President-Elect Koop
    • Presented slate of senators to confirm
    • Presented  slate of committee members to confirm
    • Motion by Senator Allen to approve both slates, seconded by multiple senators; motion passed unanimously.

    • Newly created tool available to faculty in Blackboard
    • Q&A with senators
    • Faculty may start using the tool at any time

President's Report

  • Welcome to New Senators and Committee Members
    • Shared overview of guiding documents
  • Faculty Senate Microsoft Teams update
    • Senators will be added in a week or so
    • Meeting agendas, minutes, and other documents/reports will be housed here
      • Agendas and minutes will continue to also be published online
      • Documents/reports will no longer be published online
    • Senators will need to communicate information to their constituents
    • All historical documents will be available in SOAR (archive managed by Library)
    • Anticipate will have administrative support next AY
    • Request by Senator Billingham to have name plates available at meetings next year and to disseminate meeting materials to senators in a timely manner

Election of Officers

  • Presented 2026-2027 slate of officers for Executive Committee
    • Slate unanimously confirmed

As May Arise

  • Senator Myose – there are several departments who have vacant senator spots, please reach out to colleagues to serve, as there are important issues that will be heard next year and units need adequate representation.
  • President Koop – there is still a vacancy on Rules if anyone wants to serve in the School of Business.
