Cheryl Miller is the senior assistant dean for Fairmount College. She is the point of contact for college faculty and staff concerns, strategic communication, public relations, college-wide events and college governance. She also coordinates the college tenure and promotion process, chair evaluations and annual college faculty elections. She is the liaison between faculty governance committees and the dean. Other duties include teaching a section of Comm 301 or Comm 502, coordinating posthumous degrees, serving as college commencement coordinator, and coordinating major college events such as Constitution Day.

Her professional memberships include the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences, National Federation of Press Women, Kansas Professional Communicators and Wichita Professional Communicators.

In 2016, she was named Communicator of Achievement by the Kansas Professional Communicators. This award considers professional achievement, community service and service to the National Federation of Press Women, Kansas Professional Communicators and Wichita Professional Communicators. She serves as an at-large member on the WPC board. 

She has received numerous editing and writing awards. A complete list is available upon request.

She earned a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. She holds a Bachelor of General Studies in Communication and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Personnel Administration, both from Wichita State University. She is president of the Kansas Ornithological Society and a voting member of the Kansas Bird Records Committee.
