Ulrich Museum's Sculptures

Students and faculty from the Spanish Translation and Interpreting class have collaborated with WSU's Ulrich Museum of Art to translate descriptions of the museum's sculpture collection into Spanish in order to enhance our Spanish-speaking visitors' enjoyment of the sculptures located throughout the campus.

Day of the Dead in Wichita

Students and faculty in the WSU History and Spanish programs join forces to document the history of the local Latino community by collecting family pictures and oral testimonies. The project, entitled Somos de Wichita/We are Wichitans, is funded by Kansas Humanities and Wichita State University.

Food documentary

Cocinando Wichita is a documentary film on Hispanic cooking traditions and immigration in Wichita. Community members with roots in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean cook for us and tell us about their life in Wichita. This film, funded by Kansas Humaniities, premiered in the Tallgrass Film Festival in 2019.
