With over 400 million people who speak Spanish in 21 countries, the ability to communicate in Spanish has become an important factor in the education of students in today's world. The Spanish-speaking population in the United States is the largest minority and fostering a bilingual generation of students will grant them a greater ability to communicate not only within their own country, but a good portion of the world.

Wichita State University offers a variety of Spanish classes such as translation and interpretation, linguistics, film, theatre, literature, and cultural studies, granting students a broad knowledge of Spanish language and Hispanic cultures. Here you can find a tentative class schedule for the coming years.

In addition, the Spanish Division has sponsored a number of cultural activities such as poetry readings, workshops, and guest speakers.
