Major Moves:  Your College & Career Jumpstart!

Starting college is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming, especially if you are still exploring majors, career options, or what you want your future to look like. Major Moves is designed to help incoming Wichita State students begin college with confidence, connection, and a clearer sense of direction.

This interactive two-day experience is specifically for incoming students in the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, including students who are undecided or still exploring majors and career pathways. Through engaging activities, guided reflection, and personalized support, students will begin building a strong foundation for success at Wichita State and beyond.

Students will connect with advisors, career development professionals, and fellow incoming students while exploring questions like:

  • What are my strengths, interests, and values?
  • How do my personality and communication style connect to majors and careers?
  • What opportunities are available to me at Wichita State?
  • How can I make the most of my college experience from the very beginning?

What Students Will Experience

  • Major & Career Exploration: Explore majors and career possibilities that align with your interests, strengths, and future goals.
  • Interactive Self-Discovery Activities: Participate in engaging experiences like True Colors personality exploration, vision boarding, future self activities, and the Wheel of Life reflection activity to better understand who you are and what matters most to you.
  • Career Development & PathwayU: Learn how to use career assessment and exploration tools through PathwayU while connecting your interests and values to possible career paths.
