Principal Research Interests

  • The preparation, properties and synthetic applications of small-ring heterocycles are studied.
  • Preparation of novel steroids and anti-cancer agents related to cytoxan and study of their biological activity.
  • Theoretical studies of: (a) relative stabilities of isomeric heterocycles; (b) pathways involved in their interconversions and (c) relative rates of reaction and (d) reactions mechanisms.
  • Gas-phase studies by mass spectrometry of metal complexes of polypeptides.
