- Dr. Yu is serving as a mentor for UReCA and FYRE in STEM. Undergradaute students who are interested in these research areas may consider joining UReCA or FYRE in STEM. Gradaute students may consider doing an independent study with Dr. Yu if interested in these areas.
Notes:
- In Spring 2026, a graduate student from Berlin, Germany successfully defended her thesis under Dr. Yu's mentorship. Her thesis is based on a quantitative study that focuses on the external and internal factors contributing to terrorism. It examines various theoretical frameworks proposed in the literature and thereby fills in the research gap in this subject matter. This student will gradaute with an MA in Criminal Justice in May 2026.
- In Spring 2024, two students with computer science majors successfully completed their STEM projects under Dr. Yu's mentorship. Their AI models were able to detect AI-generated photos with accuracy rates ranging from 90% to 100%. It paves way for computer forensics in the area of authenticating digital evidence.
