Mythili Menon is an Assistant Professor of English and Linguistics with a Ph.D from University of Southern California. She studies meaning, structure and representations shared across cognitive domains such as language, artificial language, music, and vision. Her specific areas of research include expression of degree modification, predication, and comparison, adjectival semantics and syntax, argument ellipsis, plurals and the mass/count distinction, cognitive and musical processing, and pursuing the relationship between language and other cognitive domains through psycholinguistic experiments.
Dr. Menon also works on language documentation and conservation. Her current project includes documenting Judeo-Malayalam spoken in the South Indian city called Cochin. She will be teaching a variety of linguistics courses at Wichita State.
