Test of Spoken English (TSE) Scheduling

 

To schedule a Test of Spoken English, please complete the following steps:

  1. Obtain the required TSE Referral Form from your academic department.
  2. If your testing fee will not be paid for by the department, you will need to complete the $75 payment online. You will need to save a copy of the receipt to upload to the online form.
  3. Complete the online form below. Before submitting the form, you must upload the completed referral form and a copy of the payment receipt.
  4. After the registration form and uploaded documents are reviewed, an IELC staff member will send a follow-up email to your shocker account to schedule the practice session as well as the exam.

Important Information:

  1. The practice session is required for first-time test takers and should take place 5 to 7 days before the exam.
  2. If you do not achieve the required minimum score of 50, you need to be aware that there is a 60-day waiting period before a retest can be given. Exceptions can be made only with a memo or email from the Graduate Coordinator or Department Chairperson requesting an exemption to the 60-day retake policy.
  3. The TSE may be rescheduled one time at no cost; however, you need to be aware that you must wait 60 days from the time of your original test date. A $10 administrative fee is charged for each additional postponement, and the 60-day waiting period will also apply.
  4. The TSE will take approximately 30-35 minutes.
  5. PLEASE BRING YOUR PASSPORT to the test administration.
  6. Your score report will be sent to the office indicated on the TSE referral form. Also, a copy of the report will be mailed to you. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for test results.
