The son of a magazine publisher in Mexico, Marco Alcocer went on to a number of different careers from journalism to the travel industry. In 2015, he recalled:

Marco AlcocerFrom a four-page publication, El Perico has grown to a 12-page bilingual magazine that informs the Hispanic/Latino community about news, health advice, and other activities in the community. In this interview, he talks about how the journal has changed over time and how it has adapted to meet the needs of this growing part of the Wichita community.
