Since arriving in Wichita as a teenager from India in 1976, Abdul has engaged in a wide range of activities. Besides purely entrepreneurial pursuits, his life’s portfolio includes running a law practice and founding a clinic that provides free medical care.
In this interview, Abdul discusses his involvement with such disparate entrepreneurial endeavors as: starting an alterations and tailoring business with his wife; ownership of various restaurants in Wichita; and engaging in a variety of commercial real estate investments in the city. Mr. Arif explained his numerous and varied entrepreneurial activities by noting:
It’s about the excitement and thrill of the chase. That’s really it. Why do you do
it? Because of the endorphins that kick in when you’re chasing a deal and creating
a value out of nothing. That is exciting.
