The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) provides a 50-50 match grant in order to plan for, acquire, and develop outdoor recreation opportunities for all people across Missouri.
LWCF is funded through revenue from off-shore oil and gas drilling. The goal of the grant is to increase and maintain high-quality recreational areas and facilities that are accessible to the public.
LWCF projects can be, but are not limited to:
- Playgrounds
- Ball fields
- Pools/waterparks
- Archery and shooting ranges
- Camping facilities
- Picnic areas
- Golf courses
- Boating and fishing facilities
- Trails
- Passive areas
