About
The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) funds projects that are aligned with the missions and objectives of the MCHF and Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).
Projects must meet immediate conservation and outdoor recreation needs. Projects that have financial support from several partners are preferred.
Also preferred are projects that address targeted conservation needs within Conservation Opportunity Areas, priority streams, areas with high outdoor recreation potential or help Missourians with limited opportunities to learn about the fish, forest or wildlife resources of the state.
The Foundation will consider funding:
- Projects that contribute to MDC’s conservation priorities.
- Projects which promote conservation including species and natural community management and restoration, stream quality, good forest management practices, and watershed health.
- Projects that promote hunting, fishing, and other outdoor skills, and recruit new outdoor users.
- Projects that promote awareness, understanding and appreciation for Missouri’s natural resources and conservation heritage.
- Projects which have high visibility for the MCHF and MDC.
Projects which attract and engage new and existing partnerships and leverage funds.

Track migratory wildlife. MOTUS Wildlife Tracking System technology is a powerful asset to research more about bird and bat species that migrate through, breed in, or overwinter in Missouri.
