Wetland Program Development Grants

The USEPA provides funds to develop or refine programs that protect, manage and restore wetlands. The focus of this grant is to develop or refine state/local/tribal wetland programs.

About

Wetland Program Development Grants are planning grants. The purpose of this grant is to increase the capacity of all levels of government to develop and refine effective, comprehensive programs for wetland protection and management.

This grant will provide funding to groups that work to develop or refine the state/local/tribal wetland program.

Including healthy watershed options like floodplain restoration, green infrastructure, green space preservation, and others into a wetland program plan may increase future support and implementation funding opportunities.

Demonstration projects, meant to transfer information or advance knowledge, are eligible for funding. However, implementation on known or traditional treatments are not eligible.

Typically grant recipients use the grant funds to develop strategies, create and modify assessment tools, and convene forums for sharing information to better understand and manage their wetlands.

See the Wetland Program Development Grant webpage for the most recent details on this opportunity.
