Prof. Richardson's interests in mathematics have covered such areas as mathematical-genetics, geometry, elementary number theory, discrete mathematics and the history of mathematics. Much of his interests are incorporated in his webpage.

Some results from the above investigations are:

"Frequencies of Genotypes of Relatives as Determined by Stochastic Matrices," Genetica (1964) 35:323-354

"Projections of a Quadrangle into a Parallelgram," The American Mathematical Monthly(1966) Vol. 73, No. 6
