Noell Birondo received the American Philosophical Association’s 2019 Essay Prize in Latin American Thought for his paper “The Virtues of Mestizaje: Lessons from Las Casas on Aztec Human Sacrifice”. The prize is awarded annually to the author of the best unpublished, English-language, philosophical essay in Latin American thought.
