Make your mark on campus

The School of Art, Design and Creative Industries (ADCI) seeks project proposals for a public art installation on Wichita State's Innovation Campus at 19th and Oliver Streets. The application deadline is February 15, 2021. The tentative timeline for installation is September 2021.

History
The city of Wichita installed two sculpture pads along Oliver in the fall of 2018 in collaboration with the WSU College of Fine Arts. Levente Sulyok, associate professor of painting and drawing, created the first two installations. Going forward, an annual call for proposals will be issued, and works will be installed on a rotating basis.

Project Guidelines

  • The work will be installed for a period of two years.
  • Artists must work with materials that will withstand the elements.

Eligibility
Applications will be accepted from ADCI students, both undergraduate and graduate, as well as recent ADCI alumni and faculty members. Students and faculty members may apply individually or as part of a larger team. Recent alumni must lead a team that includes current students.

ADCI Support
Finalists will work with a faculty committee to choose appropriate materials and processes for the project. This committee will also assist with creation of a budget to support the final proposal.

The winning artist(s) may use ADCI facilities and equipment to complete the sculpture.

Financial support for the winning proposal will be provided.

Questions about the process can be emailed to Levente Sulyok: levente.sulyok@wichita.edu.
