23 /24 Audition Information

Winds and Brass - Videos Due August 18 by 5:00 PM

All players wishing to participate in a band at WSU are required to prepare the prescribed excerpts to the best of their ability for placement in an ensemble. These auditions will take place in form of a submitted video link. Please make sure your audio levels are checked and that you are in full view on the video. As many preliminary professional auditions are being held in this manner, we need to make sure you are prepared for these audition experiences. If there are any questions regarding this process or these excerpts, please get in touch with Dr. Timothy Shade.

General Guide Lines:
  1. These auditions are for placement and seating, NOT for acceptance into an ensemble.
  2. Please look at the excerpts carefully before starting to learn them for all relevant information, such as
key signatures, tempo indications, and style considerations.
  3. If the excerpt is identified, GO LISTEN TO IT! Having a firm grasp of the relevance of each excerpt
is important to performing it your best.
  4. Please make sure you play the excerpts in the order that they are presented in each packet.
  5. Please note, all video files must be submitted with one link, and ensure that all needed sharing rights are set so that we can view them.(Most submit an unlisted YouTube link)
  6. REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN!! Auditions are stressful, yes, but you should still be making music.
THAT is the fun part. Just relax and play.

Please complete the Concert Bands Audition Form and submit your videos by 5:00 PM, Friday, August 18.
