SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

What is one thing you are looking forward to as you step into a new chapter of your life after college?

I'm really excited to start a chapter where theatre is my full time job!

How has your experience at WSU changed/impacted your craft?

WSU has taught me so much about how professional theatre runs. I have learned how to express my designs to a production team, execute complex sewing projects, and build a multidimensional character with clear objectives. I feel much more capable as both a designer and performer thanks to the opportunities, mentorship, and classes I have had here.

What is one of your favorite memories at Wichita State University?

I look back fondly on all of the late night parking lot conversations with friends after rehearsals. Doing theatre can be stressful, so having time to decompress and laugh with friends is such a solace.

What are some words of wisdom you would like to share with new artist as they pursue a degree in the Performing Arts?

Find the joy in what you do. It's easy to get overwhelmed and stressed, so it's important to remember what a privilege it is to get to study what you love. Take a step back, take a breath, drink water, and jump back in. Don't burn yourself out; you have time, even if it doesn't feel like it. Balance is essential.
