Doctor of Audiology (AuD): 2025–2028 Curriculum

The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) curriculum requires full-time study for three years (nine consecutive semesters). For additional information, refer to the College of Health Professions section of the Wichita State University Graduate Catalog. The program requires 88 credits (or 91 credits if completing Research Option 2).

Mentored Research Project (“Capstone”)

Students are required to complete a mentored research project over a one‑year period during the second year of the program. Students choose between two options; the second option is for those seeking a more rigorous and in‑depth research experience. Students electing Option 2 will pay for and graduate with three additional credits.

Option 1 (3 credits)

  • CSD 891 Nonthesis Research (2 credit hours)

Option 2 (6 credits)

  • CSD 891 Nonthesis Research (5 credit hours)
  • CSD 892 Presentation of Research (1 credit hour)

* Students choosing Option 2 complete 92 total program credits.


Prerequisite Requirements

(Not counted toward degree, but may be taken during the program.)

  • American Sign Language (e.g., CSD 270)
  • Aural Rehabilitation (e.g., CSD 504)
  • Early Language Development (e.g., CSD 304)
  • It is strongly recommended that students have completed an Introduction to Audiology or Introduction to Audiometric Assessment course.
