Next Friday, September 3, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in RSC 261, there will be trivia, snacks, and resources available to help support our first-gen community on campus. This event is hosted by the First-Generation Coordinating Council.

Mark Your Calendar for Diversity Week

The Student Government Association, in partnership with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, will be hosting the first annual Diversity Week from September 13-17. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to join them for a week full of events. The goal is to start and continue conversations about the various groups on campus surrounding race, gender, sexuality, social economic status, disability, and political ideologies as a way to bring diversity-based education to campus. Click here for the schedule of events.

Apply for the Student Fee Scholarship

The Honors Student Council has instituted a scholarship fund to alleviate any financial burden placed on students by the Honors Student Fee. The application contains a 250 word essay. Applications are evaluated by the Honors Student Council. If selected, this scholarship will cover half of the applicant's $50 Honors Student Fee for the Fall 2021 semester. Preference will be given to applicants who do not receive the Honors Merit Scholarship. Applicants will need to reapply every semester.

Click here to apply. Applications are due Friday, September 17.

Honors Option Agreement

You have the opportunity to do an Honors Option Agreement to modify a non-Honors course into an Honors course. You would work with a faculty member to design the Honors criteria. You can find both the faculty and the student forms at www.wichita.edu/honorsforms. They must be submitted by the end of the third week of classes. Please note, students in their first semester are encouraged to consider this in their second semester or later.
