Honors Students Publish Article on Space Mining
Brittany Wojciechowski, Lucas Webb, Aubrey Koonce, and Molly Williams recently published their article, "The Need for Strict Regulation of Asteroid Mining", in the European Space Policy Institute's Voices from the Space Community series. Their article is an outgrowth of research they conducted while enrolled in an Honors Seminar on Philosophy of Space Exploration, taught by Philosophy Faculty James Schwartz in the summer of 2018. Opportunity for Students: 2018 Post Election Conference at the University of Kansas Dole Institute
The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics – The University of Kansas will be hosting the biennial 2018 Post-Election Conference on December 5th and 6th at the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas. This acclaimed event delves into the key strategies of elections to analyze how and why they are won and lost. This year’s Post-Election Conference will include a panel of journalists, pollsters, campaign strategists and political consultants from both parties who will analyze and discuss the 2018 midterm elections. This is a rare and special opportunity on Wed, Dec. 5th 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (General Session I) and Thurs, Dec. 6th 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (General Session II).

Earn the Honors Community Award
The Honors Student Council challenges students and faculty to attend 5 or more honors events in the fall semester. Those actively participating will receive an Honors Community Award AND t-shirt at the end of the fall semester! Events that may apply include: Honors Hours, WHEAT, Honors LLC, General Assembly etc.
Apply for Alternative Break Service Leadership by December 7th
Student Involvement’s Alternative Spring Break program exposes WSU students to complex social and cultural issues through community visits and direct service. Students may choose to register for HNRS 306G to earn credit toward Honors and General Education Social and Behavioral Science requirements. This experiential course will utilize an applied learning method of Service-Learning to explore a social justice issue through multiple communities both local and in an immersive travel environment. Apply by December 7th for priority consideration.
