Don't forget about the Honors Hour THIS MORNING!
Today at 11 a.m. Jessi Raburn and Trish Gandu will be providing information that will greatly assist you on your Honors journey. They will discuss next semester's Honors courses, academic advising, Cohen Enhancement scholarships, and National Student Exchange. *For those who cannot attend today's session, another session with the same information will be next Thursday at 4 p.m.
Every student who attends will be entered into a drawing for an Honors College t-shirt and hand sanitizer. One winner will be randomly selected at the end of each session!

Tune into Honors Hour: The State of Play in Current Politics on October 8!
Honors Hour: The State of Play in Current Politics will be on Thursday, October 8, from 4 - 5 p.m. Dr. Neal Allen and Dr. Brian Amos, both professors in the WSU Political Science department, will discuss the competitiveness of Kansas elections at the federal and state level, showing district maps and election statistics. Democrats are competitive in many seats (including the U.S. Senate race), but Republicans remain the dominant party in Kansas.
Every student who attends will earn points for their Honors House AND be entered into a drawing for an Honors College t-shirt and hand sanitizer. One winner will be randomly selected at the end of each session!

Kansas Honors Connections Conference – seeking papers and presentations
Connect with honors students throughout the state of Kansas, share your scholarly and creative activities, and take part in the sixth Kansas Honors Connections Conference on Saturday, November 7. This virtual conference is hosted by Emporia State University.
The Kansas Honors Council invites you to submit an abstract for an oral presentation,
poster presentation, original artwork exhibition, and/or musical/theatrical performance.
The oral presentation is limited to 10 minutes while the performances are limited
to 15 minutes. Additional time will be provided for questions and answers afterward.
Recordings of the poster presentation and performance must be submitted by October
9, 2020. A question and answer session will occur at the conference, so presenters
must be in attendance. Oral presentations will be given virtually on the day of the
conference.
Attached is the conference poster with a link for further information and the form to submit presentation and performance proposals. You will need to have a Google account to access the proposal.
Registration cost to attend is $10. Registration is LIVE NOW at the Honors Program

Free printing & how to utilize it here in the Honors College!
Free printing is one of the many perks of being an Honors Student here at Wichita State. If you are an honors student looking to take advantage of this privilege come to the Honors College located in the ground level of Shocker Hall anytime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Located in this space are multiple computers. Log into any one of them using your MyWSU ID and password, and from there you will automatically be connected to our printer in the lounge.

“UReCA: The NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity is a multidisciplinary Web journal sponsored by the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC). Our mission is to curate relevant, progressive and academic content that appeals to undergraduate students in the United Stated and abroad. We are seeking works from undergraduate student who are engaged in relevant and intriguing research.”
Categories of submission include: Fine Art, Humanities, Creative Writing, Social Science, STEM
To submit, follow this link. Submissions are reviewed by UReCA’s editorial staff which is composed of students from honors programs around the country. Selection is via a triple-blind process and is competitive.
