Family Weekend This Saturday!

A grey graphic with yellow and black splatters in the corners. In the top of the graphic, there is a text box that reads "Family weekend" and at the bottom of the graphic it says "September 24, 2022." In the center, there is a picture of the Wichita State water tower with booths set up underneath and people walking on the sidewalks. This weekend is a big weekend for Wichita State, and Honors College plays a huge role in its success.
Family Weekend is a weekend packed with fun and excitement for WSU students and their families.  To
assist in this celebration, the Cohen Honors College will be hosting an event in RSC 266 (the Pike Room)
along with visits to the Honors College for students wanting to show off the space to their parents. Stop
by and have a frozen drink, listen to the DJ spin your favorite tunes, win prizes, and take pictures at our
selfie booth.  If you have friends and family in town, bring them along for the ride as well.

Honors offers students a different way to do their degree, designed to be broader, deeper, or more complex than traditional college study. Most Honors courses & experiences also meet general education or major requirements. They simply push you farther. They may require additional research or creative activity, encourage collaboration or independent problem solving, or engage you outside the classroom in integrative and reflective applied learning.

Visit the Current Students page on the college website for general information about Honors curriculum paths and other opportunities in Honors. We also have a suggested honors course sequence page that shows different options for honors experiences over four years. You can view and change your honors track in the Change of Major app in your MyWSU portal, and the honors academic advisor, Jessi Raburn, is available by appointment virtually or in person to guide you as you make decisions.
