New Honors Course Offering

Honors students, keep your eyes peeled for more information about an Honors-only section of the popular Spring pre-session offering: Leadership in Self and Society with Dr. Peter Cohen. This course takes the perspective of Astin and Astin (2000) that… “an important leadership development challenge for higher education is to empower students, by helping them develop those special talents and attitudes that will enable them to become effective social change agents.”  Considering what we face as a society, leadership may be our most significant challenge. In this course, students will embrace adaptive challenges and practice leadership in real time.  This experience is about transforming students’ capacity to make progress on the issues most important to them.
