Curriculum

The major in applied linguistics offers students three concentrations: general linguistics, speech pathology and communication sciences, and computer science and data science. 

A departmental honors track is also available for this major.

This degree enables students to specialize in the subfield of linguistics and offers the necessary skill sets to find job placements in the industry or pursue graduate studies. As an academic field, linguistics has seen tremendous growth and is currently at the forefront of interdisciplinary research in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, speech pathology, natural language processing, and marketing and branding strategies.
