Inside the Program

Expand your skills through Kodaly certification

As a student with a choral music concentration, you can become certified in the Kodaly method of singing.

Kodaly uses games, movement, songs and listening exercises to train students in basic musical skills and teach the reading and writing of music.

WSU's Kodaly music teacher certification program has been recognized by the Organization of American Kodaly Educators as one of the largest in the nation.

Curriculum

The program offers several options: coral and elementary music, instrumental conducting, instrumental music (with recital option), music in special education, and voice. MME programs range from 32-36 credit hours.
