Admission to the program

To be admitted to the program, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree, or demonstrate intent to complete a bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution by the spring semester prior to entering the PA program
  • Have a minimum overall GPA and science GPA of 3.00
  • Complete all prerequisite science courses by the time of application

Inside the Program

Volunteer experiences help PA students become service-learning leaders

PA students participate in a variety of volunteer opportunities, offering them real-world experience in research, professional development, community service, interprofessional education, and leadership.

Students support the community through ICT Street Team, Lord's Diner, Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald House, Meals on Wheels, iCanBike, Good Shepherd Hospice, Shower Up Wichita, health-related advocacy drives, and more, learning to meet the needs of the whole patient.

Curriculum

This seven-semester, 26-month program is divided into two phases. Approximately half of the program is dedicated to didactic classroom instruction, providing students with the foundational medical knowledge and clinical skills required for practice.

The remaining half of the program consists of supervised clinical rotations across a variety of medical specialties and patient care settings, including rural, urban and underserved communities. During the clinical phase, students also complete a master's scholarly project integrated throughout the year.

Graduates are eligible to take the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Associates exam, which is required for a physician associate to practice in all states.
