Wichita State’s graduate certificate in School Counselor to Clinical Mental Health
Counselor provides a path for students who currently have their school counseling
degree to obtain additional licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

This certificate program requires 12 credit hours. These 12 credit hours allow students
in the 48-credit-hour school counseling degree program to meet the Kansas Board of
Behavioral Science Regulatory Board (BSRB) requirement of: having a degree in counseling and having 60 graduate credit hours.
This program is open to currently enrolled students in the counseling program’s school
counseling degree track or non-degree A status students who wish to complete the LPC
licensure requirements. All Graduate School policies related to admission will apply
to students admitted under non-degree A status.
