September: Student Parent Month

Throughout September, our office is proud to celebrate Student-Parent Month, recognizing the dedication, resilience, and achievements of our student-parents who balance academics, family responsibilities, work, and personal commitments while pursuing their educational goals. 

Student-parents are an important part of the Shocker community, and this month provides an opportunity to raise awareness of their experiences, amplify their voices, and celebrate their successes.

Pumpkin Palooza

Celebrate the season with OAL's Pumpkin Palooza! Stop by during office hours for a pumpkin-inspired treat or seasonal drink. Online & Adult Learning Week

November 9-13

November is a time of celebration as we recognize National Distance Learning Week and National Non-Traditional Student Week. The Office of Adult Learning is proud to honor the dedication, resilience, and achievements of our Shocker students who are making great strides toward their academic goals. 

Join us on social media throughout the week as we celebrate the diverse experiences and accomplishments of adult, online, transfer, military-connected, and non-traditional students. Whether you're balancing coursework with work, family, or other responsibilities, your hard work and perseverance inspire our campus community. 

We look forward to recognizing and celebrating our incredible Shocker students all week long!

Whether you're wrapping up your final exams, projects, or coursework, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on your accomplishments and celebrate all you've achieved this semester. 


Honoring our Fall 2026 Graduates

Adult Learning Cord Pick-Up | December 7-11
Graduating in December 2026? We've got something special for you. Eligible students will get an email from our office with an invitation to come pick up your cord.  Stop by the Adult Learning Office, SSC 302 during our office hours to pick up your graduation cord and celebrate your achievement. 
 
Cap & Gown Drop-In
We are excited to celebrate this milestone with you! We love hearing about your academic journey and capturing this meaningful moment.  
You’re invited to stop by our office so we can help celebrate your achievement. We’ll take photos of you in your regalia—or you’re welcome to borrow a gown from us. We will provide a list of iconic campus photo locations that you can use to take pictures with your loved ones to commemorate your achievement.  
 
Can’t make it to our Cap & Gown event?  
We would still love to include you in our Graduation Gallery! Send us a photo, share what graduating means to you, and tell us a bit about your experience. We’d be honored to feature your story and celebrate your accomplishment.
