Why would you recommend the program to other U.S. students?
I recommend this program to other students because it will allow you to make new international friends and learn more about their cultures, all while having fun around Wichita. It is also a great opportunity to learn a new language or improve your skills by talking with a student who speaks that language on a regular basis.
Why did you sign up to be a buddy?
I signed up to be a buddy because I wanted to be able to help and guide my buddy around Wichita. I really wanted to be able to give them the same excitement and love I received in Japan when I studied abroad, despite being in a foreign place.
How did you benefit from the program?
Being in the buddy program has allowed me to meet very kind and great people. I benefited from this because I was able to learn more about the different perspectives of my buddy and other international students and how they have lived their lives compared to the U.S.
