John Perry

Why would you recommend study abroad to students?

"I strongly recommend study abroad because you will have amazing experiences with people overseas. Studying abroad is beneficial for not only learning language but also enjoying their culture and visiting places that you have never been. In Japan we say, "The frog in the well knows nothing of the great ocean." I believe you will gain global points of view in the future after study abroad."

How has your study abroad experience benefited you in your professional/personal life?

My study abroad experience has benefited my life greatly. I have traveled to China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand, and England. I also studied abroad again for my graduate degree and found jobs outside my country. Now I advise my students to study abroad. More than 30 students have studied in Japan through the WSU Study abroad program or taught English in Japan through the JET program.
