Wichita State University Campus of Applied Sciences and Technology (WSU Tech) is affiliated with Wichita State University. While the two remain separate degree-granting institutions, the formalized affiliation allows for more collaborative possibilities, as well as increased availability and quality of opportunities for students, while directly meeting the core workforce needs of the state.

What's in it for students?

  • General education courses taken at WSU Tech are transferable directly to Wichita State University.

  • WSU Tech students have the option of paying supplementary fees to access all of Wichita State University’s support services and student life activities not found in the traditional technical college setting.

  • Wichita State University and WSU Tech co-locate at multiple campuses.

  • The affiliation encourages faculty collaboration between Wichita State University and WSU Tech, leading to innovative methods of teaching and applied learning opportunities that give students a competitive advantage in the job market.

  • WSU Tech maintains its open admissions policy. Students taking WSU Tech classes apply through wsutech.edu. Classes are held at one of WSU Tech's Wichita-area campuses or online.

  • Students wanting to take classes at both Wichita State University and WSU Tech will go through each institution's admissions process separately.

  • WSU Tech continues to offer over 100 degree and certificate programs spanning aviation, health care, manufacturing, design, information technology, police science, culinary arts, business, and more. WSU Tech and Wichita State University maintain different tuition rates.

  • Shocker Pathway, a partnership that allows students to start their general education credits at WSU Tech and finish their Associate of Arts degree at Wichita State University remains in place.
