The student experience: Connecting every student

By Teri Hall, vice president for Student Affairs

Each fall, students gather with their academic colleges and compete in the Clash of the Colleges. As Caitlin Nolan states in the video, this event allows students to meet each other and work together, learn about opportunities within their college and create relationships which last a lifetime.

In a sense, the Clash perfectly displays the relationship between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at Wichita State. Students come to WSU to prepare for their future profession through academics, and they build further connections through involvement in co-curricular activities.

Caitlin’s interaction with OneStop and the Clash are examples of the Division of Student Affairs’ vision – “Connecting Every Student” – being fulfilled.

When students invest in their academics and involvement on campus, they take part in a truly remarkable Shocker experience.
