Fall 2020 Survey E

*** IMPORTANT INFORMATION *** 

• We understand that this is a time of great uncertainly and it can be very difficult to make future plans.  Since we need to take action in SEVIS, we will go ahead and update SEVIS with the required comments for Fall 2020. This assumes you will be returning to/remaining in the U.S. for Fall 2020 and enrolling full-time in not only distance learning courses. We will email your new I-20 to your wichita.edu email address.

• If you later determine that you will be unable to return to the U.S. for the Fall 2020 term, you will need to submit a new survey indicating your plans so that we can terminate your SEVIS record for the reason Authorized Early Withdrawal. This includes if you will be enrolling full-time for Fall 2020 from outside of the U.S.  If we do not receive a new survey and you are not enrolled in a full course of study by September 16, we will have to terminate your SEVIS record for a negative reason, Failure to Enroll. This is different than terminating for Authorized Early Withdrawal which is a positive termination reason.

*** STUDENTS OUTSIDE OF WICHITA ***

• If you decide to come back to Wichita, you must return no later than Aug 20. Please note that Kansas requires all international travelers to be quarantined for 14 days.  For details on the quarantine requirement, visit https://www.coronavirus.kdheks.gov/175/Travel-Exposure-Related-Isolation-Quaran. You may not physically attend classes during your quarantine period. For this reason, if you will miss any in-person classes while you are outside of the U.S. or during quarantine, you should 1) contact your professors to let them know the date that you plan to begin attending in-person classes, and 2) seek permission to begin attending their classes late. Your professors might allow you to attend remotely or online until you can begin attending class in-person.  However, if your professors will not allow you to arrive late and miss in-person classes, you would need to select different classes with professors who have approved your late arrival.
