Paraguayan Student Association Scholarship/Fellowship

for members of the Paraguayan Student Association (PSA) at WSU

This scholarship was established to support Wichita State students who are actively involved with the Paraguayan Student Association (PSA) as well as the WSU and Paraguayan communities. Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Have completed at least one semester at Wichita State University.
  • Be a member of the Paraguayan Student Association (PSA) at WSU.
  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full or part-time at WSU.
  • Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • Have not been previously awarded from this fund.
  • Have financial need.

Application Process:

  • A completed application includes: application, a one to two-page essay: giving information on how this scholarship would contribute to your education, your financial need, your involvement in the Paraguayan Student Association as well as involvement at WSU and with volunteer programs in Paraguay. Students can also include information on any goals you have after completing your degree in the essay. One letter of reference/recommendation is also required.
  • At the time of application submission, you must upload at minimum an essay—one to two pages in length.
  • Applicants must submit a minimum of one letter of reference/recommendation to be considered. These reference letters can be uploaded within the application or emailed to Tonya.Baldwin@wichita.edu.

Additional Information:

  • Applications will be accepted twice annually for fall and spring semesters, pending availability of funding.
  • This scholarship cannot be renewed.
  • Award(s) will be made with regard to financial need, involvement with the PSA, campus/community involvement and volunteer work in Paraguay as well as academic achievement as outlined in the applicant's essay.
  • No recipient will be excluded from consideration based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital status, status as a veteran, or disability.
  • Up to two scholarships of $1,000 each can be awarded annually. Award amounts are up to $1,000 and awarded for either fall or spring semester. Award decisions will be made in June/July for fall semesters and November/December for spring semesters.

Applications for the fall 2025 term will open in early June 2025.
